Maginhawa’s Best Breakfast Spots
As what they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I firmly believe that breakfast food can either make or break your day. But not today, because we decided to roam around Maginhawa to check out some of its best breakfast spots! Maginhawa is quickly becoming popular neighborhood for those seeking new restaurant experiences. So here’s our list for Maginhawa’s Best Breakfast Spots!
Even if the not-so-morning people can’t say no to a good breakfast.
Fortunately, some of the places we will share with you open on early hours and most of them serve all-day breakfast meals. Whether it’s fluffy pancakes, sumptuous silogs, or just simple good coffee brew you’re looking for, there’s a little bit of something for people of all appetites in this list below. Truly the best breakfast spots in Maginhawa!
First stop for our best breakfast stop is the Maginhawa’s top-caliber Ally’s All-Day Breakfast Place. Ally’s All-Day Breakfast Place is located at 22 Malingap Street, Sikatuna Village, Quezon City. As of today, it has emerged to four other branches across Metro Manila. This breakfast spot offers a DIY pancakes and waffles menu, which guests of all ages enjoy! Also, one thing I loved about the Ally’s All-Day Breakfast Place is the restaurant’s ambiance.
Must-try: Bagnet Superstar (PHP 260), Death by Chocolate Overdose (PHP 270)
Journey Freaks’ tip: Pancakes and/or waffles (well almost all of their food) are good for sharing. Their servings are really humongous.
Note-worthy: Reservations should be made especially on weekends. Parking slots are quite limited.
French Toast Oreo Peanut Butter PHP 150 (This is the bomb!)
If there’s an institution of silog around Maginhawa, Rodic’s Diner will probably top-notch the list. Rodic’s Diner started way back 1949 and the rest is history. It is located at 14 Masaya Corner Maginhawa Street, Diliman, Quezon City. Their most-recommended dish is their Tapsilog (PHP 99). What I love about Rodic’s tapsilog is that it has its unique character and taste. But never underestimate their other dishes like Sisig (PHP 99), Liemposilog (PHP 99) and Caldereta (PHP 99). What makes this place as a one of the best breakfast spots in Maginhawa is that for a cheap price you would get a soul food.
What I didn’t like about Rodic’s is that sometimes their service is poor. There was no proper queuing of orders when we were there. Imagine that we waited for almost half an hour just to get served a cold tapsilog and a burnt jumbosilog.
Last but not totally the least in our list for the best breakfast spots is the Angus Tapa Centrale by Tapsilog Centrale. Angus Tapa Centrale is located 22 Malingap Street, Teachers Village, Quezon City (same building with Ally’s). First thing you would notice a tarpaulin that says “#1 of Spot.ph Top 10 Tapsilog” at their façade. Their best-seller is the U.S. Angus Beef Tapa with Rice and Egg (PHP 165). Or go for the spicy version for an added kick for only PHP 185. This place is not about tapa but for a good coffee brew like Godiva.
Must-try: U.S. Angus Beef Tapa with Rice and Egg (PHP 165), Bacon Liempo (PHP 235)
Journey Freaks’ tip: Angus Tapa Centrale is open for 24-hours. You can treat yourself to a tapsilog-fix even at an ungodly hour. Parking slots are quite limited.
